Milano: aggressione ad un attivista against deterioration

We move to Milan to report a very sad fact. A friend of ours, Danilo Cutshaw, one of three founders of the Navigli Action Programme for the recovery and enhancement of the historic canals of Milan, was the object of a violent assault by a drifter who, according to several witnesses, he usually spend his days to take drugs in the neighborhood.

Our solidarity is obvious not only personal but also ideological, as it were, since the work of Daniel is deserving of much more than the violence of a misfit. The deterioration of a neighborhood is invariably associated with the degradation of people and it is no coincidence that this marginalization has decided to express his "arguments" using violence against his "partner." Né è un caso che nessuno dei numerosi passanti sia intervenuto in aiuto di Danilo.

Personalmente riteniamo corresponsabili di questa aggressione i milanesi: come cittadini, che girano la testa dall'altra parte o meglio la infilano sotto la sabbia come tanti struzzi, se mai ci fosse la sabbia in darsena; come istituzioni, con le loro immobilità e indolenza che rasentano l'omissione d'atti d'ufficio.

Un grandissimo abbraccio e augurio di pronta guarigione a Danilo, che dovrà essere sottoposto ad operazione chirurgica. Siamo a sua disposizione per qualsiasi comunicazione voglia fare sui suoi progetti di riqualificazione dei navigli.
